Building the Keyhole

Keyhole to Other Dimensions is currently being built for Burning Man 2026. Design is complete, materials have been sourced, and the first components have been CNC cut. Over the coming months, the project will move through build, engraving, illustration, lighting, transportation, and installation on the playa.

The project is being brought to life with the support of a talented team of builders, fabricators, artists, and friends. Support helps bring the Keyhole to life and may unlock a few surprises along the way.

Keyhole Inspiration

The Keyhole began with a lifelong fascination with curiosity, hidden objects, and the stories they hold. As a child, I was drawn to old keys, locked compartments, and the challenge of figuring things out. One of my earliest memories is finding a way to open and restore my grandmother’s long-silent grandfather clock.

Over the years, that same curiosity found its way into my photography, illustrations, and the Keyhole symbol that repeatedly appeared throughout my artwork. Thirteen years of participating in Burning Man transformed me as an artist and a person. Through photography, music, illustration, and the countless creative expressions found on the playa, I discovered new ways of seeing, creating, and expressing myself.

The Keyhole symbol eventually evolved into a pin, a gift shared with others, and ultimately into this installation. Keyhole to Other Dimensions is an invitation to explore curiosity, transformation, and what may lie beyond the familiar.
